North Carolina Maternity Photography - Rena and Brad

This weekend I was honored to attend my sister-in-law's baby shower in Rockinham, NC.  Rena and Brad are expecting their first child, a little girl, in November.  After the shower, the mother-to-be watched her favorite football team play, and then we took some maternity photos.

It was so fun to take these photos and edit the images!  I only wish that we had time to do a bigger session!

If anyone is interested in doing a maternity session, email me at robinbird@fotki.com.  Here are some of my favorites from Rena's session.

North Carolina Photography

I am pretty pleased with my portrait session with Jordan, and in the near future, I will be doing a couples session with her and her husband, Jordan.  Yes, they have the same.name. It's awesome!  Our session will be similar to an engagement session except for that they're already married.  It's going to be so fun!

I'm hoping to do some other types of shoots in the future as well.  I'm interested in doing bridal portraits, trash-the-dress, baby/newborn photos, family portraits, and senior portraits.  At this time I am offering Time for CD or Time for Print for my first shoot in each category in order to build my portfolio.  So, that means if you would like for me to have a session with you, I will provide you with images in exchange for your time.  I am located in Winston-Salem, but I may travel to Charlotte, Greensboro, and the surrounding areas.  You may email me at robinbird@fotki.com for more information.

And because it's a photography blog, meet Freddie, our Mayan lizard friend we met on our Mexican honeymoon....

Winston-Salem Portrait Photography - Jordan

Yesterday I had the pleasure of doing a portrait session with my neighbor and friend Jordan.  We got up bright and early and started shooting around 9am.  Since this was her first time modeling, and my first time doing a photo shoot with a model other than my cat, we decided to keep it simple and did the shoot at our apartment complex.  We had a lot of fun, and I got some pretty good shots too!  Here are a few from our day.  My husband helped me pick out these. :)

Wedding Photography - Jen and Chris

Saturday I went the wedding of a class mate who was the best man in our wedding.  While I attended as a guest, I got a few shots in just like everyone else, however, I'm pretty sure the pros were giving me dirty looks.  I tried to take most of them when they weren't around, and I rarely used my flash.  I wasn't intrusive, and most were taken from my seat.  Guests at weddings always take pictures, and I am so happy that they did at mine because it is 2 months past my wedding, and I haven't received my pictures yet.  The only person who I wish didn't take pictures at my wedding was our niece because she was right up in our faces all the time!

Anyway, I LOVED the wedding!  The ceremony was beautiful, and the bride and groom were the sweetest ever!  Here are a few of the ones I was able to snag.

This one is my favorite! They're so sweet!
Our Canadian friend :)
Obviously I didn't take this one. <3
My crazy husband
Their escort favors were so cute. :)
I love this! I had a guest book tree at my wedding, and Jen asked if I minded if she do something similar with grapes.  I thought it was awesome!
She was so pretty!
I took this one, the very first one, the one above, and the one below from my seat.
She was a dancing queen!  I think she had a lot of fun! :)

Wedding Photography - Holly & Trey

Wow, things have been crazy.  I just got licensed and worked my first week as a pharmacist.  I haven't had much time for photography between that and redecorating/cleaning the apartment.  My husband and I did go to a wedding recently, and the bride asked me to photograph the guys getting ready.  Here are a few from the morning!

The Beginning...sort of

Starting around age 11, I started taking tons of pictures.  They weren't necessarily great pictures, but I took a lot of them.  By my sophomore year of high school, I was developing a roll of film almost every 2 weeks or so.  I would put my photos in albums, and I would also cut them and put them all over bulletin boards in my room.  I've never actually bought my own digital camera, but my mom got one when I was in high school and I used it all the time.  Then I used Steve's (my good friend) digital camera until he got a new one and gave me the old one   Then, a couple of years ago, my husband found a digital camera in the parking lot at a concert when we were dating, and he took it home (bad boy).  I took over that camera as well.  I've just always loved photos and taking photos.  I even like being in photos.  As an older teen I was helped a friend with her portfolio by modeling for her.  It's not that I necessarily love looking at myself, but I do like photography.

As soon as I got engaged, I knew that a big portion of my budget would go towards photography.  Before the wedding, Jennifer Dukes, who is a friend of mine from high school, took our engagement photos.  Then I had boudoir photos done by the wonderful Critsey Rowe as a wedding gift for my husband.  We hired Martha Manning as our wedding photographer, and she did an excellent job with my bridal portraits.  I haven't seen my wedding photos yet, but I can't wait!!  My husband knew how much I liked photography, and how I've always wanted a DSLR.  I'm glad I made it clear because he got me one as a wedding present!!! I love that man!

So this is the beginning of my journey with my new Canon Rebel EOS T2i.  I love it, and even though I don't necessarily have professional skills yet, my pictures look wonderful! ....in my opinion at least. ;)

Here are just a couple of my faves so far.  I hope you enjoy!
